Spellbound of the Lost and found- Moira Fowley-Doyle
'One stormy summer night, Olive and her best friend, Rose, begin to lose things. It starts with simple items like hair clips and jewellery, but soon it’s clear that Rose has lost something bigger; something she won’t talk about.

Then Olive meets three wild, mysterious strangers: Ivy, Hazel and Rowan. Like Rose, they’re mourning losses - and holding tight to secrets.

When they discover the ancient spellbook, full of hand-inked charms to conjure back lost things, they realise it might be their chance to set everything right. Unless it’s leading them towards secrets that were never meant to be found . . .'

I loved Moira Fowley-Doyle's first book The Accident Season it was original, whimsical and magical. I have no doubt that Spellbound of the Lost and Found will be just as enchanting as her first book and I can't wait to read it.

Who Runs the World? - Virginia Berlin
'Sixty years after a virus has wiped out almost all the men on the planet, things are pretty much just as you would imagine a world run by women might be: war has ended; greed is not tolerated; the ecological needs of the planet are always put first. In two generations, the female population has grieved, pulled together and moved on, and life really is pretty good - if you're a girl. It's not so great if you're a boy, but fourteen-year-old River wouldn't know that. Until she met Mason, she thought they were extinct.'

I thought the premise of this book was unique and I love a good bit of dystopian fiction.

After the Fire - Will Hill
'The things I've seen are burned into me, like scars that refuse to fade.

Father John controls everything inside The Fence. And Father John likes rules. Especially about never talking to Outsiders. Because Father John knows the truth. He knows what is right, and what is wrong. He knows what is coming.

Moonbeam is starting to doubt, though. She's starting to see the lies behind Father John's words. She wants him to be found out.

What if the only way out of the darkness is to light a fire?'

This book has been on many award and reading group lists and has caught my interest. Again the idea is different to anything else I've ever read. I've heard many good things about this book and I can't wait to read it.

Still Me - JoJo Moyes
'Lou Clark knows too many things . . .
She knows how many miles lie between her new home in New York and her new boyfriend Sam in London.
She knows her employer is a good man and she knows his wife is keeping a secret from him.
What Lou doesn't know is she's about to meet someone who's going to turn her whole life upside down.
Because Josh will remind her so much of a man she used to know that it'll hurt.
Lou won't know what to do next, but she knows that whatever she chooses is going to change everything.'
The 3rd book in the Me Before You series. I loved the previous two and I am a really big fan of JoJo Moyes writing style. Lou Clarke is an incredibly likeable character, I have already started this book and I am already hooked!

What is on your to be read list this month?

Thanks for Reading!
