What I Have Been Doing While in Lockdown
I had a lot of travel
content that I was planning on writing up for this blog but sharing it in the
current climate feels a bit odd so I am saving it for future posts. Instead I
thought I would share with you all what I have been doing to keep myself busy
while lockdown has been enforced. Currently I am working from home so that is
filling up most of my working days. That aside what I have been doing to keep
myself entertained is:
1. Catching up on TV
Shows
I watch a lot of TV
generally it is one of my favourite hobbies, I love getting invested in a good
programme. This extra time has helped me catch up on shows that I started
watching but never finished as well as binge watching new shows. You can check
out what I have been watching here.
2. Organising and Tidying
As I am sure everyone else is as well I have had a good sort out of my
room, tidied, cleaned and cleared out any stuff I no longer need. Lets just say
the charity shop will be receiving a large donation from me! Nothing like a
clean and tidy space to make you feel better mentally.
3. Exercising
I had a good gym routine down before they all closed and I did not want
to let that progress go to waste. Obviously I have even more time now to
exercise and I have been managing to do some form of exercise at least once a
day. I have also got into running as my one trip out a day, I am definitely not
a runner generally but I am seeing progress and noticing I am improving even if
it is very slowly!
4. Reading
I love a good book and before completing my degree I did not have time
to read much really that was not a text for my course. Thankfully I got the
degree done at the beginning of this year and this gave me a lot more free
time. Now I have the time to read stuff that I actually enjoy! I am putting
that time to good use and I am catching up on my to be read list. See what I
have been reading here.
5. Scrapbooking
I have had this on my to do list for years! I kept tickets from all my
holidays read to be put into a scrapbook with photos from the trip. Now that I
have the time to do it I am finally completing it you can see some of my
progress here.
6. Baking
I really enjoy baking and I have never really had the time to try out
different recipes. Thankfully we stocked up on baking supplies on one of our
few shopping trips so I can bake to my hearts content. I have already attempted
blondies and cookies both of which I have not made before as well as cakes. My
next attempt is going to be bread. You can see some of what I have already
baked here.
7. Video Calls
Staying in touch with family and friends at this time is very important
and I have been doing this like many through video calls. While its not the
same as seeing people in person it is the best we have with the current
situation and it is nice to keep in touch and have some social contact during
this weird time.
8. Blog Posts
I have been catching up on my blog content, normally I do not seem to
find time but I am really enjoying having this space as a creative outlet
during this time. Even if it is just sharing with you all the mundane day to
day things.
What have you been doing to keep yourself busy?
Thanks for Reading!
