Kotor, Montenegro Day Trip

While in Dubrovnik another tour we booked onto was a trip to Kotor in Montenegro. This was an excursion booked for our holiday through TUI called The Best of Montenegro with a guided tour of the old town. 

I must admit that we skipped out on the guided tour due to our tour guide having lost her voice and therefore it was difficult to hear the tour. 

Overall these are what we recommend for the day trip to Kotor:

Kotor Old Town... Wander round the winding streets of the old town, buy souvenirs, eat some good food, meet all the cats around the town. 

Bay of Kotor... Take in the views of the magnificent bay of Kotor. Both on land and by boat these views are great. If you have hired a car you can even drive round the Bay. 

Our Lady of the Rocks... As part of our tour we visited Our Lady of the Rocks, this is an artificial islet of the coast of Perast just before Kotor. Local legend suggests the islet was made by local seaman who kept an ancient oath after finding the icon of Madonna and Child. There are some stunning views from this islet and the church itself was fascinating to learn about and see.

Ladder of Kotor... If you have the time you can also walk up the Ladder of Kotor, this hike takes you up to a viewpoint of the bay of Kotor. Unfortunately we did not have time for this on our day trip but if you do the views are supposed to be phenomenal.
